Just ran across this: Remember when I and all my liberal friends were mad at Target for contributing money to an organization that exists solely to run ads for Tom Emmer? He’s opposed to marriage equality and a bunch of other things we liberals like, and we felt betrayed, because Target, you know, they sponsor Twin Cities Pride, and they have progressive employment policies, and now they’re donating $150,000 to that guy?
Hey, guess who the #1 donor to Michele Bachmann’s campaign is?
I know, Target isn’t contributing to these candidates because they oppose gay rights, it’s because they’re pro-business - but see Abe Sauer on what “pro-business” means for Minnesota businesses, or Ed Kohler on who actually creates jobs (and who doesn’t).
The other thing I think is fun: Besides retired people, who are apparently a major bipartisan force in 6th District politics, Bachmann’s top supporting industry is “Republican/Conservative.” You know, the conservative industry. Manufacturing and servicing of conservatives. That’s the kind of industry that made America strong, before we started buying all our conservatives from offshore sweatshops.
