The New Yorker fact-checks Michele Bachmann on the number of children she has (via thedependentclause)
It’s time for another round of “Erik takes things too seriously”! She was talking about a Texas law that mandates vaccination against a strain of HPV that can to cervical cancer. Boys don’t get cervical cancer; the law doesn’t apply to boys; her point was, she has three children who would have been affected by the law, had they been Texan and twelve. She didn’t forget she had sons; she used the wrong word, or forgot to finish her sentence. It happens.
Anyway, it’s a funny joke, I’m glad you got to enjoy it before I rained on it. (BTW, in case anyone out there accidentally listens to any more of what Michele Bachmann has to say about this, you should know that parents were allowed to decline the vaccination for their daughters.)
