Gorkha Palace first anniversary

My new favorite cuisine since moving to Minneapolis is… Nepali? Tibetan? Himalayan? It’s like Indian food, but (in my experience) lighter, less hotly spiced but not less flavorful. I’d never heard of it before I got here, but we have at least three good places to eat it. My favorite is Gorkha Palace. They use a lot of fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, their to-go boxes are compostable, and most importantly, yum!

I first ate there in December, soon after I moved into my Northeast apartment — the sign captured my attention ten minutes into a never-completed twelve-minute walk to Punch. They must not have been open very long, because this week they’re celebrating their first anniversary, with discounts, door prizes, live music, and more. If you haven’t been there, you should go there. I’ve been there, and it’s time for me to go back.
